William J. Badger, MD
William J. Badger, MD, is a skilled urologist at Flagstaff Surgical Associates serving the Flagstaff, Arizona, community. His specialties include general urologic surgery, kidney cancer, vasectomy, and pediatric hernias and hydrocele.
Dr. Badger earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Chemistry was fascinating, but he needed more personal interactions, and medicine seemed to be a great combination. After being accepted into medical school, he along with his future wife, Sarah, elected to defer medical school for a year to make sure that they were a good match for each other and that medicine was his ideal career. Fortunately, both medicine and Sarah have been great matches, and Hawaii was a pretty cool place to spend a year. They both became die-hard Buckeyes while Dr. Badger was in medical school at Ohio State University and Sarah was earning her degree in Occupational Therapy. After completing his residency in Urology at Albany Medical Center, he completed a Fellowship at the University of Iowa in Endourology, Laparoscopy, and Robotics.
Dr. Badger and his wife moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2009 with their three awesome girls. They’ve found a great community here and love the many activities and adventures that Flagstaff and Northern Arizona have to offer. They have tried to add back to the community in many ways, not only by being a part of the fantastic medical community. They support their local public schools, which their children attend, as well as many local organizations and nonprofits. Dr. Badger sits on many committees at Flagstaff Medical Center, and he is Chairman of PathfinderHealth ACO, which is working to transform healthcare to deliver excellent medical care for all members of the community in a sustainable fashion.
As for Urology, Dr. Badger strives to provide excellent, compassionate, and state of the art care. He introduced robotic and laparoscopic renal and prostate surgery to Northern Arizona. He utilizes advanced technology when possible from electronic medical records to advanced imaging and in-office procedures. Dr. Badger treats all genders and ages for most urologic conditions.
What does Dr. Badger expect from his patients? The same that most providers want: knowledge of their health conditions and medications, a clear description of symptoms, and an attitude of ownership in their health.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Dr. Badger looks forward to working together.

She has trained extensively at Mayo Clinic in robotic surgery for cancer and reconstruction, and practices general and pediatric urology as well.
Dr. Olson grew up in Cave Creek, AZ, before moving to Minnesota to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Minnesota. While she was a student, she conducted research in gene therapy and enzyme engineering, performed clinical research in a local trauma center, and volunteered at other local hospitals and hospice centers. She met her husband while at college in Minnesota, and they married soon after graduation. With the support of her husband, she applied to medical school while working at multiple local emergency rooms, and a year later they moved to Burlington, VT, where she attended medical school at the University of Vermont. Dr. Olson’s dream was to return to Arizona, and she completed her urology residency at Mayo Clinic Arizona where she received specialized training in HoLEP and minimally invasive robotic procedures. During medical school and residency, Dr. Olson performed research in multiple topics including opioid use after urologic procedures and alternatives for post-op pain management, urethral diverticula, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, HoLEP, and enhanced recovery after surgery. She has also authored a text-book chapter on upper tract urothelial cell carcinoma and published an article on urologic malignancies and Lynch Syndrome. Her professional passions include robotic surgery, HoLEP, advancing technology for better patient care, and providing excellent care for her patients. One of her biggest joys is having her patients tell her they have had improvement in their quality of life after treatment.
While in residency, Dr. Olson and her husband adopted two rescue dogs and welcomed their first child.
